B. 1909 Wloclawek d. 1993. Studied in Warsaw and Berlin. Concertmaster of Dresden Philharmonic and Berlin Philharmonic. After becoming a U.S. naturalized citizen in 1953, he recorded music and taught at Yale and Juilliard. Considered to be one of the finest Mozart violinists of the 20th century.
